Pattaya Go-go Bars – finding your way around

Lady-boy cabarets, beers at the pub, and precarious nights spent with local women are some of the nightlife options that make Pattaya famous. If you want to dance, drink, and observe humanity, live music, plenty of pubs, and nighttime shopping compromise Pattaya's after-dark potential. A few venues make efforts towards the sophisticated.

Pattaya Walking Street

Most Pattaya nightlife action is in South Pattaya, with a concentration of bars, go-go bars, massage parlors and discos along the strip known as Walking Street (from Soi 13 '16). It's shut off to traffic during the evening, and is home to raunchy shows, bar games, competing stereo speakers and lots of booze 'all combining forces to make one big facade of a party.

There’s more of the same, slightly north at Soi Pattayaland 1, 2 or 3, particularly go-go and beer bars. Soi Pattayaland 3, or as it’s called locally, Boyz Town, caters to the gay crowd. Near Central Pattaya Road, Soi 7 to 8 is not so in your face, but still ahs plenty of open-air beer bars, restaurants and bars. Second Road also has beer bars.

Go-go bars, beer bars, nightclubs, lady boy cabaret, pubs & live music, the nightlife in Pattaya comes in a variety of forms.

Pattaya Go-Go Bars

These enclosed bars in which scantily clad girls strut, shuffle and sway seductively around steel poles, are the reason many come to Pattaya. The rules are easy to grasp: Entry is free, photography forbidden, music loud, booze flowing, girls available. Nudity in Thailand is illegal, but here in Pattaya's go-go land rules are made to be broken. Prices for drinks average around 100 baht for a beer or shot and mixer, with drinks for your half-naked host coming in at slightly more. If you go gaga over a girl and want to relieve her of her menial duties, a bar fine will be payable. After that what you pay, and for what, is your and her business.

Pattaya Beer Bars

They're ramshackle, cheap and loud but often a lot of fun 'Pattaya's beer bars are cheap and loud, and look like they’ve been built during an afternoon hangover, but they’re quite infamous! Some are in enclosed shop houses, but a plethora is to be found under a line of tin shacks, with a couple of stalls each, a small bar and a speaker. So, it has come to this. The fees for the girls works on a similar system to that in go-go bars.

Pattaya nightclubs

Hot, steamy and full most days of the week, Pattaya Beach has plenty of nightclubs full of drunken tourists and working girls. Pattaya hip-hop and Thai pop are played on repeat!
