Organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand. Festival dates can vary, but generally it takes place in the first week of March. The 3-day event features live performances by dozens of Thailand's top music artists and international artists are also invited to the festival. Besides the music, displays and stalls are set up along Walking Street with record companies, film production houses, musical instrument dealers, CD sellers and music magazines all represented. Music styles vary from jazz to pop, rock or hip-hop.
(not to be confused with the musical event) it is an annual celebration held in April at the height of the hot season. The festival feature sporting events and contests such as a mini-Grand Prix and go-kart racing, as well as a sailing regattas, windsurfing, fishing and beauty competitions. Stalls are set up selling local food and crafts, and a there's spectacular fireworks display on the beach.
A well attended run and the city's Marathon course is one of the toughest in Thailand, climbing into the hills before finishing along a scenic stretch of beach. Runners and spectators from different corners of the globe converge on Pattaya at this time of the year. The event is generally held in July.
Thailand's equivalent to the Kentucky Derby, Chonburi has a strong racing tradition based on traditional agricultural events. Farmers not only bring their buffalos, but also their eligible daughters to the festival. The Buffalos are dressed in colourful satin cloths and displayed on to the lawns of the Provincial Hall. The best decorated buffalo competitions generate almost as much excitement as the races.
Pattaya's Songkran celebration in April with the signature water fights and processions through the city. This is fun time for Thais and foreigners alike and the water throwing is mixed with revelry, offering a welcome respite from the heat.
